August 14th was our second Glenbrook Open Day, and despite some fairly heavy “Cordering mist” at times, it was good to meet up with some of our clients and talk sheep! We started off the afternoon in the yards having a look at 2 of our single sire nucleus lambing mobs, along with a selection of the blue tag rams which will be available at our sale in October.
We then headed into the shelter of the shed for a very informative presentation by Mark Allington from Icon Ag in Darkan. Mark talked a bit about ASBVs and genetics in sheep selection, then gave a clear outline of the whats, hows, and whys of our breeding programme going forward.
We finished the day with a few drinks and something to eat along with lots of discussion and a very enjoyable catch up.
Thanks to all who attended and we look forward to seeing you again at our sale in a couple of months!
